Expression of Interest — Club Manager

A rewarding role at the heart of our club and community

Dear Members and Friends of the Association,

The Irish Australian Association has gone from strength to strength, and with that momentum comes an exciting new chapter. The board has decided the time is right to bring on a dedicated Club Manager to build on all we have achieved together — and we warmly invite expressions of interest from community members who would love to play a central part in the life of the club.

Community is at the very heart of who we are. Over the past five years, your Committee has worked hard to drive positive outcomes and deepen community engagement — celebrating every aspect of Irish culture and standing alongside fellow Irish clubs not only across South Australia but right around Australia. The Club Manager will help carry that spirit forward.

About the role

This is a hands-on, sociable role for someone who enjoys being where the action is. Working around 20 hours a week, the Club Manager helps keep the club running smoothly and looking its best — an active, genuinely rewarding role right at the heart of a warm and welcoming community. Day to day, it involves:

•    Caring for our facilities and keeping the club in great shape

•    Ordering and managing stock, and keeping on top of inventory

•    Supporting and coordinating our wonderful team of volunteers

•    Helping run events and manage hall-hire bookings

•    Being the friendly point of contact for our suppliers and service providers

Who we think might love this

We have a hunch this could be a wonderful fit for someone who has some availability through the week and into the evenings, and who would love to stay active, connected and part of something to be proud of. If you are well organised, comfortable with everyday computer tasks, and happy in a lively venue with live music and good craic most weekends, you will feel right at home. Night owls are especially welcome — much of the magic happens in the evenings!

What we can offer

Primarily a volunteer role, as a not-for-profit, we are not able to match commercial salaries — but the role does come with financial recognition, and a great deal more besides: a real sense of purpose, a wonderful community of friends, a front-row seat to live music and events, and a genuine hand in celebrating Irish culture and connecting our community with clubs across Australia.

Interested? Let’s have a friendly chat

If this sounds like you — or you would simply like to find out more, with no obligation — we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with our Chairperson Marc on 0490 382 430 for a relaxed, no-pressure chat about what is involved, and forward your cv to secretary@irishclub.org.au. Even if you are not sure it is for you, do reach out anyway — we are always happy to talk it through over a cuppa or a pint. This EOI closes at midnight on Sunday 2 August 2026.

Go raibh míle maith agaibh — a thousand thanks — for being part of our club’s story.
